I just wanted to share my very first expierence at a video shoot last year (2010)
This Video was my first time ever being on Set. I Loved the expierence & I knew from that day on Makeup on set was what I wanted to do. I had met the very talented & successful Makeup artist Kim Todd,Who works on most of Jesse Terreros (video producer) Music Videos. She was looking for someone to assist her on the shoot so I contacted her and let me tell you I had NO idea what I was getting myself into, I took my little makeup box & thought to myself , "this should be easy" hah! Boy was I wrong.. this was a 13 hour shoot from 6pm-7a.m! I was beyond exhausted & cold. The setting was in Downtown LA on the rooftop of one of the buildings. There was a trailor with 3 different makeup artist with suit cases FULL of top of the line makeup.. It was at that moment when I realized how much I would have to invest into this career/passion that I have, it didnt discourage me if anything it motivated me! I believe I had just turned 21 & the makeup artists were between the ages of 30-35 years old, they gave me the best advice and told me to keep communicating the way I have because at 21 I was where they were at 35. Which is really crazy, but I am so thankful for every opportunity thats come my way, Im not lucky but very blessed to have great communication skills & confidence in what I do.For this video my duties were to:
Oil up the girls legs and arms with a oilly bronzer, made sure in between takes that they were blotted with napkins so they didnt appear oilly or greasy which was very nerve racking because in between takes it was like 5-15 seconds in between each. I had to run in and run out quickly etc...Although I didnt actually do the makeup for this video I gained a tremendous amount of expierence, in which opened my eyes to a whole new world.... Now I can share my Journey with everyone.. Stay tuned.. :)
helloooo beautiful People; I recently had the opportunity to work on the beautiful Lyly Ramirez, while she worked & rocked this music video for this upcoming artist Kokoe aka the mexican jeezy :) Hes very talented & such a humble and thankful artist I see big things happening for him. I love working with Lyly, she has such beautiful features, big eyes soft skin, nice lips, it makes applying makeup on her that much easier. Not only do i love doing makeup but I love surrounding myself with motivated humble people.. the industry is small and easy to get into just hard to stay around. I appreciate every opportunity that comes my way & I look forward to many more... Here are some photos of the day of the shoot.. Once the videos done i will Post- so stay tuned! Cant wait to see how it comes out :) <3
